Dr. Tharsan Sivakumar, MD, MPH, FRCPC

Endocrinologist

 

Tharsan Sivakumar completed his post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine through the Mount Sinai School of Medicine program in New York and New Jersey. Subsequently, Dr. Sivakumar obtained his Master of Public Health degree at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice. He also completed a second residency program in Leadership & Preventive Medicine, as well as his fellowship training in Endocrinology, through Dartmouth Medical School in New Hampshire.

Dr. Sivakumar is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism as well as Internal Medicine. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology. In addition, he is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine as well as Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Dr. Sivakumar is the Director of the Institute of Diabetes & Endocrinology, and the President Elect of the AACE (American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists) Canadian Chapter.  His areas of clinical and research interest include diabetes, lipidology, and general endocrinology. He has publications in a number of prominent peer-reviewed medical journals.

Dr. Sivakumar speaks English and Tamil.

 

 


Dr. Peter Wan

Internal Medicine Specialist

 

Dr. Peter Wan is a General Internist who received his medical degree and Internal Medicine Specialist qualifications from the University of Toronto. He is a Fellow of the Royal College in Canada and has practiced as a General internist for 18 years in both the community and hospital setting in the GTA.

As a true General Internist, he has wide interests in many areas within internal medicine (from endocrinology/diabetes and bone densitometry to cardiology and cardiac diagnostics ).

He has worked for over 20 years in both the hospital and community care setting at various locations throughout the GTA. He has also lectured at numerous CME events on a variety of topics within Internal Medicine including diabetes.

 

       

 


Dr. Andrea Tara Providence, MD, DABIM

Internist / Endocrinologist

Dr. Tara Andrea Providence completed her post-graduate Internal Medicine residency training through the University of Buffalo, NY and subspecialty training in the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism fellowship program at the University of Buffalo, NY.  She is board certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine & Endocrinology.

She is a JCEM published co-author, and her areas of special interest include Diabetes Mellitus, Thyroid disorders, Women’s health and General Endocrinology.

 

  

  


Dr. Shahzad Qureshi, M.D. 

Internist / Nephrologist

Shahzad Qureshi completed his post-graduate residency training in Internal Medicine and nephrology fellowship training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois


Dr. Qureshi is Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology, Hypertension as well as internal medicine. He is also Board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine.


Dr. Qureshi is currently the Chief of Internal Medicine at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario since 2015.


Dr. Qureshi speaks English, Urdu and Hindi.
